I am excited to announce that the Americas Migration Brief (AMB) is embarking on its second year of publication by entering into a partnership with the Center for Democracy in the Americas (CDA). Both the AMB and CDA are dedicated to fostering informed and collaborative discussions around regional migration, and amid record migration to and across the hemisphere, this partnership is a natural fit. CDA is proud to support AMB’s Weekly Briefs and analysis, while also playing a part in original research and insight through contributions to special editions. This collaboration represents a significant step towards developing a more informed and compassionate dialogue on migration in the Americas.
CDA is a non-partisan 501(c)3 institution dedicated to promoting a US policy toward the Americas based on engagement and mutual respect, with a particular focus on regional migration policy and Cuba policy. CDA’s work promotes the dignity and rights of people on the move in the Americas, including a migration governance and responsibility regime that allows for safe, orderly, and humane migration in the Americas. Recent reports, including a blueprint for regional migration policy, are available here. CDA also publishes a widely distributed and respected weekly US-Cuba News Brief, available here. The Americas Migration Brief is an independent newsletter founded and authored by Jordi Amaral since January 2023. Sent every Monday morning, the Weekly Briefs cover news and analysis related to migration from across the Americas and Caribbean, from Canada to Argentina. The Weekly Brief currently reaches nearly 2,000 readers, spanning government officials, researchers, multilateral agency representatives, civil society members, and more. In addition to the Weekly Briefs, the newsletter includes special editions featuring original analysis and research. Check out the following special editions from last year:
