Jordi Amaral is the founder and author of the Americas Migration Brief. Jordi is a freelance researcher and writer specializing in Latin America and the Caribbean, migration, politics, human rights, security and rule of law, and development. He has worked with the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), Hxagon, the Migration Policy Institute (MPI), the Washington Office on Latin America (WOLA), the Atlantic Council, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), the Central American Resource Center (CARECEN DC), and ONG Rescate, among others. 

Jordi holds a B.A. in International Affairs and Latin American and Hemispheric Studies from the George Washington University, where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa and summa cum laude.
